This notice is for parents and caregivers. It adds to our Privacy Policy and describes what Bible Journey does, and doesn’t do, with children’s information.
What we ask a child for
Only an optional nickname and an age group (5 to 9, or 10 and up), which chooses how lessons are explained. We don’t ask for a real full name, birthday, photo, email address, contacts or location.
What children create
Notes, journal entries and prayers stay on the device and are never used for analytics. Journal entries and prayers are encrypted with a key that never leaves the device, and they are not part of a family backup or a data export; Export Journal is how a family keeps a copy. Notes are included in a family backup only if a caregiver saves one.
Microphone and camera
If an activity asks to listen while a child says a memory verse aloud, speech is checked on the device and nothing is recorded or stored. The camera is used only to scan an invitation code, and only when a family chooses to.
Grown-up controls
The caregiver account, family settings, data controls, share sheets in Little Explorers mode and links that leave the app are behind a grown-up check. Purchases are confirmed by Apple with Face ID, Touch ID or the account password, and Apple’s Ask to Buy lets a parent approve them.
No advertising or tracking
There is no advertising, no behavioural tracking and no sale of information. There are no chats, public profiles or rankings of children. Optional crash reports are sent only when a caregiver turns them on.
Parents’ and caregivers’ rights
A parent or caregiver can review, export or delete a child’s information at any time in Profile › Settings › Privacy & Data, and can stop further use by erasing the data or deleting the app. If a caregiver saved a family backup, it can be deleted there too, with the caregiver account.
For any question about a child’s privacy, or to ask us to delete information, email biblejourney@nextarcstudio.com.
